About NWCG L-381

L-381 is part of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group L-series curriculum encompassing training programs designed for different levels of leaders. Some programs are available off the shelf; however, the advanced programs, such as L-380 and L-381, exist only as specifications in the L-series curriculum.

NWCG L-381 is not a course – it is a course specification consisting of learning objectives and course parameters. The specification does not contain content other than a topic and objective list. The NWCG Leadership Subcommittee oversees providers willing to invest the time and money to design and build programs to meet the specification. If the NWCG Leadership Subcommittee deems that a provider’s program and cadre adequately meets the specification, the provider’s program can be used to obtain L-381 credit.

The NWCG website has the current list of providers.
