MCS developed and successfully delivered a new version of its primary leadership program – At the Point of the Spear: Leading Public Health Teams. This five-day program has been contextualized for a variety of different operational environments. The newest version was delivered for the first time in Olympia, Washington, for the Washington State Department of Health the week of 9 February 2015. The class was comprised of representatives from the Washington State Departments of Health, Natural Resources, and Corrections as well as the State Police. MCS will return in March to deliver another course as well as in June to deliver the second in a series of Incident Leadership courses. The delivery of these MCS programs is part of a much larger initiative within the Department of Health to increase and strengthen its response capacity and capability.
